DuBOIS — The Brookville Grays wrapped up the Federation League regular season at 6-14 and started the playoffs Tuesday at Showers Field against the Pulaski Generals, dropping the first game 2-0.

BROOKVILLE — With 25 games played in brutally hot and humid conditions at the Brookville Area Little League complex last weekend, two champions were crowned in the annual Craig Lewis Memorial Tournament that drew 12 teams, six in each age division.

ORWIGSBURG — Adding yet another significant title to his long amateur golf resume, Brookville’s Nathan Smith captured his second straight title at the 15th R. Jay Sigel Match Play Championship at Schuylkill Country Club Wednesday.


FARGO, N.D. — Reaching the finals and grabbing a silver medal runner-up finish at Monday’s United States Marine Corp/USA Wrestling Cadet Freestyle Nationals, Brookville’s Colby Whitehill earned his third All-American finish and helped Pennsylvania win the team title.

The double-edged sword of playing in the Houston Astros organization was very obvious to former Clarion High School standout Jon Kemmer.


DuBOIS — The second time around was closer, but Brookville’s 11-year-old all-star baseball team lost again to DuBois, this time in a 4-2 loss in the District 10 final last Friday at Way Memorial Field.

BROOKVILLE — Capping off a competitive and well-played under-8 pitching machine baseball tournament, Zwick Law of Brookville held off the DuBois Donkeys for an 11-8 win in the finals of the Tim Weaver Memorial Tournament Saturday afternoon.
