DuBOIS — Tickets are still available for the sixth annual Golden Gloves boxing competition in DuBois Saturday, March 24.

The event will be held at DuBois Country Club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the boxing card begins at 7:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored and hosted by the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League. The evening will feature approximately 8 live bouts ranging from first round to semi-final fights in various weight classes and divisions. Tickets are available at https://www.showclix.com/event/golden-gloves-2018.

Proceeds benefit WPAL Fitness Center in DuBois, which offers completely free memberships to anyone between the ages of 6 and 18 and encourages law enforcement officials to work out in our gyms free of charge.

WPAL is encourages youths to “believe in themselves” while emphasizing the importance of self-esteem, confidence, self-control and self-respect.
